SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FORUM ON SONIC BOOM IMPACT RESEARCH

Objective:
To exchange ideas and views on sonic boom impact research, and to identify issues and topics of mutual interest to the participants.

In memoriam: Distinguished Professor Emeritus H.K. Cheng passed away in July 2007. His intellectual expertise, enthusiam, out-going recruitment of others and gregarious nature will be missed.

SONIC BOOM FORUM

Format and Setting
Forum meetings scheduled with designated or invited speakers on topics proposed by participants.

  • The home base of the forum is at the University of Southern California, where the regular meeting time is Thursday, approximately 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
  • Some of the meetings are held at off-site locations of special interest, such as NASA Dryden Research Center , Lockheed Martin Aeronautics-Palmdale and Hubbs Sea World.

Focus and Scope:
To elucidate unresolved and new issues critical to:

  1. environmental protection and conservation,
  2. sonic boom propagation and prediction,
  3. sonic boom alleviation and control.
